Uploaded files found in Google search

    Hi,

My form involves people applying for professional recognition and uploading CVs. The return to form is particularly useful some applications take months to complete. Hence the CVs stay on the server for some time. I have recently had a complaint that one applicant that his CV was found in a Google search. Understandably these are confidential. Is there any way I can make these uploaded files invisible to search without removing them from the server each time?

Yes, you can simply move your upload folder to a folder outside your document root folder and the configure the "File Upload Folder" setting on your machform with the new path. This way, any files uploaded to your machform won't be accessible through your site.

    Follow these steps:
    1) Copy your "machform/data" folder into a folder outside your website folder. such as "/var/private/data". Make sure to copy all subfolders and files.
    2) Go to your Settings page, click "advanced options" and then enter the new path (e.g. /var/private/data) into "File Upload Folder".
    3) Browse through your original "machform/data" folder and delete all "files" folder. Leave the "css" folder intact.
