Password Protecting the MachForm folder

Will it be okay if I password protect the directory under which MachForm is installed under? Example: mysite.com/075bt43/machform
I know that the folder has to have read/write privileges (777) and was wondering if the password protection of the folder will create a conflict.
By the way, the installation of MachForm was quick and easy. I highly recommend this product!
Thank you

It will be okay. However, all your forms will be password protected too.
Are you okay with that?MachForm Founder

Well, I tried it and all the forms did become password protected as well. that's not good. Do you know how to simply stop search engine crawl bots from indexing the folder?
I'm doing this for security reasons.Posted 16 years ago # -
The proper way to stop search engine bots from indexing the folder is using robots.txt file.
Create a robots.txt file and upload it to your document root. The content of that file should be like this:
User-agent: * Disallow: /machform
That would restrict bots from indexing your machform folder.
More info about robots.txt:
