MYSQL cannot connect access denied

If anyone is having a problem installing and are getting errors of Mysql not being the correct version and authentication failed....
I had this same problem - not sure if you were trying to install via an IP address or over a domain name..
I was doing some dev work and was attempting to install over IP address and got all of the errors.. when I switched and used the domain name (yourname.com) it worked... no more errors..
Hope this helps!

Hi Drayton
Thanks for the advice, which I did try. But this is what I have been getting back.
OK PHP Version >= 4.3.0
X MySQL Version >= 4.1.0 ( I am using 4.1.22 so I know it is ok)
X Correct User and Password for MySQL
Access denied for user 'hireaban_sharon'@'cp17-virtual.syra.net.au' (using
password: YES)
X Establishing a Connection to Database [hireaban_contact]
Unable to connect to MySQL
OK Writable Data Folder [./data]I have tried using 'localhost' and hireaband.co.nz I just can't seem to get it to work however it is showing up as 'cp17-virtual.syra.net.au' now with my domain name. Not sure what to try next. If any one can advise that would be great.
Thanks.

Sharon,
Is your site using cPanel?
If so, most likely you forgot to set the permission of your mysql user.From your cPanel, MySQL database section, search for the menu "Add User to Database"
And then make sure to add the user "hireaban_sharon" to your "hireaban_contact" database and set ALL PRIVILEGES.Then try run your installer again.
Let me know if the problem persist.MachForm Founder
