MachForm flexibility

I just ran into MachForm and it looks real promising. I think what I need to do might push the envelope but maybe there is someone here that can help me or perhaps point me to some other package that might work. This is the sort of thing I'd like to do:
My form will have 20+ fields. One of the fields is a drop down list containing the names of folders (directories on my web site. This can be populated at when I initially build the form.) When a folder is chosen then a separate drop down list gets populated with the file names in the picked folder. (I understand this is not provided for by MachForm. Maybe there is a work around. Worst case I can prepopulate these drop downs as well but the chosen one needs to appear when its folder is picked. (Hopefully this makes sense.) Let's say the files in the directories are text files. Now once a folder is picked and a file name is picked then that file is opened and its text, for example, is placed in one of the Form fields. The rest of the fields are fields that will be edited. (They describe aspects of the text file.) When an update button is clicked then ideally another row is added to the database rather than updating the row so it can be used like a wiki. (If not then updating the row is fine.) So the idea here is in the steady state when the file name is picked the latest row containing the latest fields are displayed in the form. (Again if this is not possible then the row is displayed.) This is the basic idea. I can muddle through a bit of php, MySql, Html but seem to have to re-teach myself every time I look at some thing again. I'd appreciate any tips. Thx.Posted 16 years ago #
