Limit date selection

Is it possible to set a date that wold be the latest an user could select. For example I don't want anybody to be able to select a date that is after Dec. 31 2012.

Just select "Enable Minimum and/or Maximum Dates" on your form (in version 3).

Sorry, I'm not sure if I'm using version 3 or 2, but I do not see that option in the field properties. How do I do this in version 2?

Under 'settings' your version should be displayed. If you are in fact using v3.0 or above, then simply: add a new date element, select the element, under 'field properties' select the tick next to 'Enable Minimum and/or Maximum Dates', then select the dates that meet your specific criteria.
However, if you are using v.2 then you should either consider upgrading to make your life easy OR this can be accomplished via custom code in the includes/post_functions.php file.
