Installation error. Database connection.

Hi everyone. I'm getting an installation error while trying to upload my scripts.
This is the error I am receiving.
Warning: mysql_get_server_info(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /hsphere/local/home/c255266/quietside.com/Forms/installer.php on line 147 Warning: mysql_get_server_info(): A link to the server could not be established in /hsphere/local/home/c255266/quietside.com/Forms/installer.php on line 147
My hosting provider says that my MYsql has 4.1 on the server. But Machform is unable to detect it. What do i do?? thank you.

hi,
it seems you've set wrong database host name, check your database information once again . If you still having difficulty with the installation, just send your web host login info to :
customer.service[at]appnitro.com

I'm having the same issue here. I've created a new Lunarpages account and they don't use cPanel anymore.

Lunarpages should be fine. cPanel is not needed, you can use their own provided control panel. Make sure to have the correct mysql username and password. Also make sure the mysql user is having the correct permission to access the database.
