Generate bar code after submission

    Hello.

I can't tell how much I like your software! Awesome job!

I'm hosting a big event soon and I'll have participants register using an online form I'm making with MachForm. One of the things we want to do is to be able to generate a "unique code" for each of the people that sign up. I mean, once a user submits a form they would get a Bar code or something similar which they would then present to us the day of the event; this code would allow us to easily identify the person since we would scan it. We have both a bar code scanner and a QR code scanner.

Is it possible to integrate such a thing to MachForm?

    Thank you very much!

Technically speaking, it is possible to do so, since the form already generate unique id number for each submission.
However, to convert this id number into bar code or QR code, I'm afraid it won't be quite simple. At least you need to know how to use a library within PHP.

Here is a library which I think you can use:
    http://phpqrcode.sourceforge.net/

The library seems pretty easy though.

Thank you very much for your reply Yuniar, I have very little experience with PHP.

Like you say, since the forms already generate a unique ID for each submission, would it be possible to include this ID in the Notification Emails MachForm sends to the users? The idea would be to have this ID "show up" using a Bar Code font like this one: http://www.dafont.com/barcode-font.font By doing this, the e-mail that the user receives after a submission would include the unique ID shown in this barcode font.

This sounds like a custom request right? Could you implement that into my installation of Machform?

Or if what you suggest above would be easier (http://phpqrcode.sourceforge.net/), could I ask for a customization on my installation? What would be implied?

Thank you very much for your comments.

    Hi,

I know this post is a year old, but I have interest in our form doing something similar to what is listed above.
We use our forms for tracking work orders on repairs we do. I would like a unique QR code to print out on the submitted form so it can be scanned and load the form in a browser to be updated when we complete the repair. I uploaded the above library to my machform folder on the site server, but I am unsure what code to add where to get the functionality I am looking for.

I think it would be a great feature for you guys to add as standard, but any help at getting it to function would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt
