File upload with email notification

I have a form where users can upload files. Ok, simple enough. Is it possible to have the form sent to a specified recipient?

In other words, The user enters the recipients email address in the form, uploads the file, and the recipient receives his email with the link to download the file that was sent to him.

Presuming you are using the latest or recent Machform 4.x?

Is it possible to have the form sent to a specific recipient"

Yes you can do that - it's one of the primary feature of the application. You can set up the notification as an automatic reply with customised message. Additionally you can include the detail of the submitted form by way of "place-holder" field names, that then merge the correct form's data as part of the email message, and also optionally attach the submitted files from the form (instead of a link).

The link is accessible only by the authorised back-end admin user, and that doesn't generally include the front-end user submitting the form.

In the Administration area, you can set up email notifications of the submissions to the site's admin/owner and to the user sending the submission. You can also Bcc any other email address you specify in the Notifications screen/s.

The notifications may not be on by default which probably prompted you wondering if you can do so.

See the Notifications documentation, and take a look at the demo - from Form manager, click the "Ntofications" link under the form's name in the main form manager listing..

I hope I haven't missed the point of your question, but as asked, the above information answers it.

I understand completely how to do what you described in your previous post.

However, what I would like to do is this, I have my form with 2 email fields. One designated as the sender (this one doesn't really matter because he will be a user setup in Machform) The other one will be the RECIPIENT. The RECIPIENT is not a Machform user but rather just someone who receives the email from the sender that he is sending him the form entry.

    Like this...

    FROM: (Email Field)

TO: (Email Field) This could be anybody I wanted to send it to without having to login to Machform.

    Make sense?

At this stage, you can't do that ; I actually thought the BCC feature (new as of V 4.6) could do it but you can only enter the extra email addresses through the Admin area and not something the front-end user can specify.

It would be a good enhancement of the BCC feature.

Actually, it is possible to do so. Here's a screenshot on how to do it:

in the above sample, "sender email" is having merge tag "{element_1}"
