    Hi,

You can do these following steps :

    1. Make backup to your machform database
    2. Setup a database and restore your backup files to your new host
    3. Copy-paste machform files from old host to new host
    4. Setup your "config.php" file, refer to new database information
    5. Make sure you have set the folder and database permission properly
    6. Test your machform of course :)

    Hello,

Where I'm hung up actually is step 1. I have everything else setup on the new host and the only thing I *think* I need to get here is moving the database over. Everything is identical on the new host. Same database name, user, etc.

I have gotten the old host to dump the database. The new host wants the database in .gzip format so the old one dumped it as .gzip but when I try and upload it to the new host I get an error...

Unable to restore database mysite_machform : ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'mysite'@'localhost' (using password: YES) gunzip: stdout: Broken pipe

My Site is dummy text. What is a broken pipe?

    Thanks.

To gabeilawa, and for those interested and have difficulty with backup of their MYSQL DB with myPHPAdmin (or equivalent), try this handy backup script:

    http://www.appnitro.com/forums/topic/mysql-backup-script?replies=2#post-1778

It's really a "one-click" back up - quick and efficient, and saves mucking around with myPHPAdmin if you're not sure how that works.

All you do is provide the DB details like the db username, database name, hostname, password (the details that are in your machform config.php file) and click a button, the db is exported to a text file (*.sql) and can be FTP'd to your computer.

Applying it to a new database on a new host might be a little more complex, but generally, through myPHPAdmin it's a matter of importing the file.

gabe, try to check your user permission to your new database.
    According to the error message:

"ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'mysite'@'localhost' (using password: YES)"

Either your user doesn't have permission to the database or you have the wrong password.

If you need more help on this, send us an email with the necessary login info. We'll help.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I managed to get the backup script working but it still won't upload to the new host. I am not 100% sure but I think part of the problem might be that my old host used CPanel and the new one uses DirectAdmin.
As far as I know, I don't have any permissions issues since all the database information is the same from the old to the new host.

To import the databases to the new host, they require .gzip format but the backup script doesn't support that (as far as I could tell). Nice script though!

Yuniar, what info do you need from me?

Currently the domain still resolves to the old IP since I haven't been able to get the forms working. If you need to get on both the new and old domains let me know and I will send you the IP address for the new domain in the e-mail.

    Thanks.

Gabe, I'll need access to both your cPanel and DirectAdmin.
Send the details to: customer.service [at] appnitro.com

    Hello,

I have changed nameservers and tried to login to the form and check the records. However, my login was no longer good so I thought I just needed to upload my old config.php.

I did that and I broke the form.

It looks like you have two users setup in the database now. What are the correct settings for config.php and which user should I be using for the form?

    Thanks for your help.
