address fields / remove country code, or prepopulate it

    Hi,

I'm using Machform 3.3 and loving it! It's such a lovely piece of software. I have a couple questions about the address fields. I ahve a simple donation form for a local charity. I don't mind having "Country" listed if I can prepopulate it with United States. (Can't you add this functionaility to the program?). OR I can remove it.

Also, would love to have State prepopulated, as well.

How do I do this? I found some other posts, but they were about older versions of Machform...

Add an address field to your form, select it, and look at the Address Options in the Field Properties tab to the right. You can set the default country to the United States by selecting it from the drop down menu there, or, even better for your purposes, check the "Restrict to U.S. State Selection" box. This will lock the country field to the United States and give you a drop down list of U.S. states on your form. Unfortunately, you won't be able to set a default state in this menu.

If you really want to make addresses look exactly the way you want them to, you can skip the built-in address field and make your own from text fields.

Would be great if Machform allowed you to select a default state, just like they do default Country. Would add a nice touch.

    Hi,

Yes, currently you unable to set the default value of state directly indeed, sorry,
However, you can use url variable to set the default value of state. If your address field id is 2, you can put the url variable like this

    http://yourdomain.colm/machform/view.php?id=10914&element_2_4=North%20Carolina

That would set the state as "North Carolina"
